CONTROLLER

Lyco Manufacturing, Inc is searching for a Controller with a manufacturing background to join our top-tier family-owned industry leading team to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting.

Objectives Of This Role

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • First-hand development and growth of accounting staff consistent with the company’s succession planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Work closely with Corporate Accounting Firm
  • Additional Controller duties as necessary.

 

Responsibilities & Duties

Accounting Operations: Oversee the accounting / finance department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll as well as supervision of accounting staff.

Financial Reporting: Oversee the production of periodic financial reports and ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Working with Executive Team: Assist in the guidance of financial decisions and advise executives on finance matters.

Financial Statements: Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements.

Budget Process: Manage the budget process and develop and monitor financial performance metrics.

Forecasting: Create a budget that allocates expenses in the most auspicious manner.

Compliance: Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, and monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Level Accountant
  • 10+ years of experience at the Senior Accountant role or higher
  • Strong background in Manufacturing highly preferred
  • Advanced degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
