Sanitary Zero Maintenance Screen

Lyco Manufacturing takes reliability to the next level with its Sanitary Zero Maintenance Screen design, eliminating trunnion wheels and bearings. The maintenance-free design removes the need for routine lubrication of the bearings. Lyco is known for making the most robust rotary screens in the industry.  As with any machinery, chain and sprocket drive systems still require routine lubrication to ensure optimal performance.

Clean-Flow®

Clean-Flow® Blanchers were developed in 2007 to address the need for faster sanitation cleanup time so that prepared meal operations could run many different products in a day. All of our Clean-Flow designs feature Hydro-Flow® agitation, which  guarantees a uniform process. You’re able to achieve a much higher quality product because every food item receives the same treatment. Under and over-cooking of pasta is eliminated. Losses from sticking and clumping are totally eliminated which  increases recovery 10% to 15%  compared to European cook-quench-chill systems.

Clean-Flow designs have an auger with a wedge wire screen underneath the auger located between 3:00 and 9:00 o’clock which contains product between the auger flights. For cleaning, the screen is driven by a large gear which rotates it 360° exposing the inside and outside as the auger turns at the same time. Spray manifolds swiftly clean the screen and auger. Lyco has Clean-Flow machines in North America, England, Ireleand, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Finland. This design has been called “The best pasta and rice cooker in the world!”

Lyco designed a revolutionary method of cooling called “Easy-Flow” which follows behind the Blancher. This machine cools most pasta shapes bringing the temperature down from 200° to 40°F in less than 30 seconds. That is productivity.

Single Drum Wastewater Screen

Processors can gain significant savings with our Single Drum Wastewater Screen to help reduce industrial waste and increase product recovery. Efficiently performs liquid/solid separation for red meat, pork, poultry, seafood or vegetables. Wedge-wire screens offer greater cleaning efficiencies, or reduce water requirements with an optional, patented Traveling Spray CIP option. More operators rely on Lyco’s Single Drum Wastewater Screen than any other type. Cast Stainless running rings last forever.

Double Drum Wastewater Screen

Processors can gain significant savings with the Double Drum Screen two-in-one screening system to reduce industrial waste and increase product recovery. The Double Drum screen combines .080″ primary and .020″ secondary screening into one machine. Operators can save space, costs and time by eliminating the need for two single-stage screens. Effective with poultry, vegetables, potatoes, fruit or snack food processing, the Double Drum screen offers durable, rugged construction and an established reputation for successful, reliable use in the industry. Users call this the best wastewater screen in the world.

Sealed Drum Separator

Sealed drum separator features enclosed construction that contains odors, improves liquid recovery and aids in temperature control. Perfect for rendering operations, this system effectively applies heat to extract moisture and separate fat, producing superior crax to the press versus a perk pan, to create rich, granular meals for animal feed or other industrial use. Drum slot spacing offers solids removal down to 0.020 to help reduce insoluble impurities and avoid clogs in screens, nozzles and other equipment further down the processing line. Captures a greater amount of solids to reduce waste and increase product recovery.

Stationary Screen

The Lyco Manufacturing Stationary Screen de-waters products, such as beans and vegetables, or can perform rough screening of wastewater. The wastewater function cleans up pea, bean, corn, potato or meat waste. Sanitary construction and a tilt out screen make cleanup a quick process. High-quality craftsmanship guarantees long life and performance.

Water Reuse System

Lyco’s Water Reuse System can save money, cut cleaning and maintenance time, and reduce consumption of water resources — up to 15 million gallons per year. In poultry plants, this revolutionary system removes solids so that water can be re-used and sent back for prior processing steps. The system’s small footprint makes it ideal for many water reuse applications. A 200 GPM saving can return more than $150,000 a year.

New Sanitary Zero Maintenance Screens feature covers that open for full access, Clean-In-Place system with spray balls and rapid-change dual canister filters with automated purging.
Systems are available for 50 gpm – 400 gpm.

You’re able to achieve a much higher quality product because every food item is individually treated gently. Under- and over-cooking of pasta is eliminated. Losses from sticking and clumping are totally eliminated which increases recovery 10% to 15%  compared to European cook-quench-chill systems or batch kettle systems.

Clean-Flow designs have an auger with a wedge wire screen located underneath the auger from 3:00 to 9:00 o’clock which contains product between the auger flights during operation. For cleaning, the screen is driven by a large gear which rotates it 360° around the auger. Spray manifolds swiftly clean both sides of the screen and auger. Lyco machines are robust and made to very exacting tolerances, which result in very low maintenance, very high reliability and a higher return on investment. Meat/Poultry/Seafood

Per capita consumption of red meat might have declined, but consumer demand for poultry and other sources of animal protein have replaced it as a perceived healthier option. Even while per capita consumption has declined, overall dollar sales have increased due to value-added product introductions. Packaged Facts estimates retail sales of meat and poultry products to grow to $98.3 billion in the U.S. by 2017. And while dollar sales of fish and seafood are up, volume is down. Total retail sales of fish and seafood are projected to grow to $17.1 billion by 2017.

Prepackaged meal components or ready-to-eat options continue to drive the category as a whole, with one analytical group recently predicting the U.S. market for meat, poultry and seafood packaging to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4.7% through 2019. Strict regulations for food safety requires proper processing equipment for pasteurizing product packages and rapid chilling are a must. In addition, rapid processing of these different proteins naturally requires a different approach, as the more delicate proteins within the seafood category for example, demand a gentle yet rapid processing system that won’t damage product.

Lyco has made over 750 variations of rotary drum cookers and coolers which are guaranteed to heat or cool uniformly, and have self contained Clean in Place Systems. There is one main moving part which is the rotary drum screw covered with round hole perforated skin sheets supported by two heavy duty trunnions on each end. That system never wears out.
